Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for 'Rebel Moon,' a space fantasy film directed by 'Justice League' filmmaker Zack Snyder, set to premiere on the streaming service on December 22.

It is worth noting that this is only the first part of the film, titled 'Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire.' Netflix plans to launch the second part, 'Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver,' on April 19, 2024. The decision to split the film was made because it would run approximately three hours, which Netflix film chairman Scott Stuber advised against; movies under two hours tend to perform better on the platform, as reported by Vanity Fair.

'Rebel Moon' stars Sofia Boutella from 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' as Kora, a enigmatic warrior who defends a colony on the edge of the galaxy threatened by Regent Balisarius (played by Ed Skrein) and the Mother World army. Kora recruits a motley crew of misfits from nearby planets to help overthrow the oppressive regime.

The film also features Anthony Hopkins, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Staz Nair, Bae Doona, Ray Fisher, and more.
