Apple’s upcoming event for the next iPad is on May 7

Apple recently released an invitation for its upcoming event, scheduled for May 7. The presentation, titled “Let Loose,” seems to be taking place exclusively online, following the trend that Apple has adopted during the pandemic. While the company has started hosting in-person events again, such as WWDC beginning on June 10, this event appears to be online-only.

Given this, it is likely to be a smaller event, focusing on one or two specific products. Apple is probably saving more significant announcements for its developer conference, just a month later.

The invitation artwork showcases a hand holding an Apple Pencil with the tagline “Let Loose” written by hand. Fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of new iPads, as the tablet line has not been updated since 2022. It is speculated that the M2 and M3 chips will be included in the iPad Pro and iPad Air models, respectively.

In addition, the upcoming fourth-generation Apple Pencil is rumored to have a new “squeeze” feature, mentioned in the early iOS 17.5 beta release this month. There are also whispers of an enhanced version of the Magic Keyboard case for the iPad Pro.

The event is set to begin at 7 a.m. PT on May 7. Stay tuned to TechCrunch for more updates.
